One of the things I always wonder as a reader is what characters look like for authors if there’s no art in the book. Do they look like certain actors and actresses or celebrities? Do they not look like anyone known? The way I get to what a character looks like is always different, it just depends on the story. (I can get more detailed on a different blog post.) With this story, I had an idea of what each character looked like. Some reminded me of a character I’ve seen somewhere and others fit specific actor looks.
Sofia Algarotti was the hardest one to cast and the hardest one to find someone who looked as close to what she looks like in my head. The I saw this specific picture of Monica Bellucci and instantly knew that was Sofia. Have you seen this woman’s body!? She fit the beautiful curves Sofia is blessed with, she’s just 2 inches taller than Sofia.Sebastian Stan fit Leo’s personality and looks almost perfectly. Then I saw this picture and saw how tan he was here, THIS was Leo exactly. Except for the hair. Leo’s hair was a bit longer than that.This is how long Leo’s hair is in my head. Seb’s just less tan in this which is why I didn’t just use this picture.Myra wasn’t as difficult to cast. As soon as I saw this picture of Banita Sandhu, I knew I had found Myra. She’s 3 inches taller than Myra, but her face is the perfect combination of innocent looking but also like she can turn dirty when she wants to. She also looks like she would be fine correcting people when they call her My-rah instead of Mee-rah.Say hello to Gérard. Luke Bilyk looks almost exactly like Gérard. He’s just a bit more buff than Gérard, his eyes aren’t brown even though they look brown, and Gérard is a shade or 2 more tan.
Well, there you have it! Leo and Myra looked exactly like that in my head. This is as close as I could get to what Sofia and Gérard look like in my head. Yes, it’s totally fine if they look different to you. I just wanted to share what they looked like to me.
